Why Experiments?

My art is a part of my experiments for finding better forms of human life and society.

After studying Business Administration at a University and being employed in Japan, I realized being successful in business world does not make everyone happy. People often struggle mentally and physically in a working environment.
Furthermore, it is not only happening at office, but also at home or any social group.

Why do people including me get stressed even though most of us wants to be happy?
This question made me start experimenting how we can improve our level of well-being.
Then, Art is what I came across and it became my language/tool to help people get rid of stress and improve mental health.

How does my art helps mental health?

My paintings leave an empty space on the canvas which give appreciators a room to meditate and being relaxed rather than giving its idea or stories to them.
In addition, my style of paintings is like unplanned aging. To explain it more, Please imagine that trees in a forest are getting rained on, bitten by bugs, or having moss growing at the roots. This natural process of aging inspires me and I create something based on unplanned colourings. This style shows people how to appreciate results by natural aging.

Having your own icon can improve your life.
It can be a presentation to people you encounter. It also can be a reminder for yourself not to forget important things of your life.

Green is a relaxing colour and apples contain essential nutrition for us.

Passive Art

Passive Art

Art without subject

Passive Art can help you release stress and negative energy stored in your brain.

Tomo’s Passive Art paintings have an empty space or no subject. That space and emptiness in paintings gives you a chance to talk about your problems or desires. It listens to you rather than telling you its ideas or stories which is a common role of most art works.
